Pierce pushed himself off the couch without a word and headed upstairs.
I barely noticed him leave.
My attention was completely fixed on Hayes and Camille.
Camille looked calmer than she had any right to be.
I leaned forward.
“Tell me everything.”
Hayes rested his forearms on his knees.
“We got to the spa a few minutes before nine.”
His voice remained steady.
“We stayed inside the car while waiting for Serena to arrive.”
He rubbed his jaw.
“But the timing went wrong.”
I frowned.
“What do you mean?”
“We never actually saw her arrive. We were watching the entrance,” he continued, “and somehow missed her. By the time we realized it, she was already walking inside the spa.”
