The boardroom door closed quietly behind me.
John and Mia were standing outside. The moment they saw me, both of them straightened immediately.
Neither asked questions.
I kept walking.
The sound of my heels echoed sharply through the hallway as I headed toward my office. Mia followed behind me silently, tablet already in her hands.
I pushed the office door open.
“What are my other schedules for today?”
Mia stepped in behind me while checking her tablet quickly. “Fabric department meeting in fifteen minutes. Then the investor reviews at eleven. Design approval at one. Lunch meeting with the Milan team at two-thirty. Marketing presentation at four.”
I glanced at the clock mounted beside the glass wall.
9:47 AM.
Almost time already.
