I nodded slowly. A strange feeling settled heavily in my stomach again. “She might be in some kind of trouble…” The words settled heavily between us. Before Hayes could say anything, one of the doctors finally walked out of the emergency room. I stood immediately. “How is she?” “She’s stable,” the doctor answered calmly. Relief hit me so fast my knees almost weakened. The doctor continued. “She collapsed from severe exhaustion and dehydration. There were also symptoms consistent with a panic attack.” Panic attack.
