The dinner between Sloane, Noah, Elena, and Massimo appeared to be going well. No one had started a fight, everyone laughed and smiled at each other, and no one even glared at anyone!
But only the servants would think it was actually going well. To Elena, who was paying much closer attention, the dinner was going... okay.
Sloane mostly paid attention to Noah or Elena. While Elena was pleased to have her mother's attention and be asked plenty of questions about her likes and interests, the doctor was a little disappointed. She did want Sloane and Massimo to get along.
Since Sloane was refusing to engage with Massimo—and Massimo's social skills were still a little lacking—that left Elena to try to jumpstart their friendship all on her own. At least, Elena expected things to go that way.
