Massimo waited impatiently for Elena to recover. He increased her team of doctors to include more specialists, but no one seemed to be as concerned about Elena's health as Massimo.
When Massimo got short with them, the doctors would always insist that Elena was on a steady upward climb. She was no longer in danger of dying. She was improving!
"Then why isn't she waking up?" Massimo would always growl back.

"She's just resting up—give her time," the retired army doctor would say.
