Relief washed over Kate as the familiar sight of her apartment building greeted her. Anna, with a silent wave, deposited her right outside the door. The absence of Deimon's car in the parking lot caused a pang of disappointment, but her exhaustion overshadowed it. "Thank you, Anna," Kate said, her voice hoarse but sincere. Anna's gaze softened.
