Chapter 43: Vanessa
(What Now?)
My brain was all fog and dust as I tried remembering where I was and what happened.
I suddenly shot up from the bed in full panic. “My baby!”
Strong arms pulled me back down. “You're going to hurt yourself, Vanessa. You need to rest.”
“Christian, what happened? How is my baby? Is my child okay?” My vision turned blurry from the tears that clouded my eyes.
He nodded once. “For now. The doctor wasn't sure of next time. You almost lost the baby from the bleeding. I'm sorry I partly contributed to that. It won't happen again. I will not put you under any stressful position.” He swore.
“So my baby is healthy and strong?” I inquired.
“Yes. The doctors managed to stop the bleeding. You've been unconscious for two days.”
