“What took you so long? I was almost convinced that you had truly forgotten me here and made a run for it.” I nagged Christian the very moment he walked into the hospital room looking very tired and stressed out.
“I had very urgent matters to attend to.” He simply stated.
“Matters that could not be attended to sometime later?” I scoffed.
“These were very pressing and important matters, Vanessa.” I noticed how he put emphasis on the words, pressing and important. “I couldn't have predicted that those circumstances would arise.”
“I hope the pressing issue wasn't disposing of George's body?”
