Chase’s POV
Jacob’s wolf’s piercing claws were stretched straight towards my neck, as his wolf was in a committed full-blown leap, heading straight for me when I finally turned back in his direction. Without hesitation, my body shifted into my own wolf form, bracing itself for impact. But my body wasn’t the only thing that shifted in that split second, as I felt a burst of power rushing through the entirety of my body like lightning.
Before I knew what was happening, that same power released from within me, forming a brilliant white light around me. Although it was almost blinding, I could vaguely see through it enough, to see Jacob’s wolf bounce right off it, sending his wolf flying straight back in the direction he had come from.
