Raven’s body trembled in my arms, while a steady flow of tears poured from her eyes, soaking the front of my shirt. As I held her securely to my chest, showing her that I had her, I felt her barrier walls come crumbling down, allowing her pain to flow freely to me through our mate bond.
Jesus, she was a total mess, and her pain ran deeper than just a simple surface cut. Even with her seeing Cash in the state he was in it wasn’t even touching the surface, let alone causing this. Hell, Chase leaving her the way he had was only a partial contributor to the pain I felt coming from her.
