My entire body just felt numb. There were no other words to describe the emptiness and betrayal I was now feeling. It was like a cold knife had been driven straight into my heart, and with every second of his gaze on mine, he twisted the cold blade even deeper to remind me of how much of a fool I had been to believe that he truly cared about me.
