I don’t know why I thought Jacob would listen to me, because honestly, Jacob has always done what he wanted to, and just like he always does, he shakes his head at me, as he says to me, “I am not leaving you. Not like this. I told you, it's ride or die, and I meant it.”
I watched Jacob as he stood back up outside the vehicle, and for a brief moment, I thought that just maybe he had changed his mind, but then he gave me a kind smile, before he said, “I will buy you as much time as I can.”
“What?” Came from my lips, wondering what the hell he was talking about, but then Jacob’s head turned to look behind us, and I knew what he was up to.
I screamed out, “No Jacob!” just as he took off behind us, but my pleas to him went unanswered, as he didn’t even give them the slightest acknowledgment
