Raven’s POV
Leaning most of my weight on to Mazie, we slowly made our way down the hallway, while I babied my leg as much as I could, realizing that she was right about it still healing. Thank God, the room they had taken me to heal in was on the first floor, making it so much easier to maneuver my way to the basement door. But as soon as Mazie opened the door, I realized the real challenge now lay ahead of me, as a massive spiral stone staircase stood in my way.
As enormous as this estate was, I would have thought my grandfather would have invested in an elevator, but that would be too convenient to have right now in my moment of need. Stepping to the railing, I held onto it for stability as I moved to the edge, peering down into the dimly lit space, while a cool breeze swept from below
