Raven’s POV
It’s crazy how a simple word can hurt so much, but I know that Jacob’s departure to go back home was for the best. I hated it when I had to say goodbye to him, and for some reason that seven-letter word no longer held the same meaning that it used to mean for me. Now, it held nothing but dread and worry that this might be the last time that I ever saw him, because truth be told, it honestly could be.
With many tears falling from the corners of my eyes, I said my goodbyes to Jacob, before Cash helped my sobbing ass into the front seat of the truck, while Mazie sat in silence in the backseat, unaffected. I still hadn’t taken the time to address her little act of betrayal, but right now, I honestly didn’t have it in me to.
