Crowning me as the new Alpha of my pack wasn’t even remotely an option, nor did I even want the title. Don’t get me wrong, there were definitely days that I wanted to overturn my father's and my brothers’ authority, especially when it came to their spoken disapproval of my behavior, but truth be told, I didn’t want the responsibility.
Unfortunately, right now, I couldn’t let this rogue Alpha know this, because I was sure he would see it as a sign of weakness, and I had to make him think that I was doing this all for my own personal gain.
So instead, I said to him, “I look forward to finalizing our transaction.” As I did my best to hold back any taletelling signs of my dislike of this whole situation.
“As do I.” He said coldly back to me, staring me up and down before finally nodding
