“What if I stay outside?” Chance quickly counteroffers me, and I closed my eyes, shaking my head, knowing that he wasn’t going to leave me, even if I begged him too.
As I continued to shake my head to disagree with him, I began to plead with him by saying, “I can’t have you sleeping outside. You need to go home and get some rest, especially after everything that happened today. I am sure you have to be beyond exhausted from fighting those rogues, and besides, I believe that they would be foolish to attack again tonight.”
Chance’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at me, and I could see that he was thinking about what I had just said, before he admitted, “Your probably right, and I am sure my father will have a tight patrol running all night.”
I found myself leaving out a sigh of relief,
