“I’m really one of them?” I asked Lexi, as the realization of what she said just registered.
This whole time I was in denial, thinking that I couldn’t be like them, because I was feeling absolutely nothing inside of me that would lead me to believe that I was about to change into a werewolf. Honestly, I had no clue what I should be feeling, but other than this damn heat thing that I had just dealt with, nothing else seemed to be different about me with my approaching birthday. But now hearing it from Lexi’s lips, knowing that she was hired to watch over me, it had me wondering if there was truth to their claim.
