My body was now running on pure adrenaline, as I knew the camp where the call had come from was just a few miles away from where we were, but unfortunately, those few miles felt like forever away. It honestly felt like it was taking forever to make it through the vast forest in front of us, as the old maintenance trail was becoming overgrown from its lack of care over the years. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Jacob holding on for dear life with one hand, as he held the piece of equipment that he had taken from the fire station with the other one, while I tried to make ease of the terrain.
