Zander The envelope sat in the middle of Mario’s desk like it had a heartbeat. No one touched it. Not me. Not Gina. Not even Papa, and this was his office. It was amazing how something so ordinary could change the atmosphere in a room. It wasn’t large. It wasn’t marked with a threat. There wasn’t a drop of blood or a cryptic symbol drawn across the front. Just one word. Zander. Written in neat black ink. That somehow made it worse.
