“Well, that makes sense,” Blake replied to Dominic’s assertion that Nova and Susie were completely different people. “I suppose if you were concerned about your employee’s trustworthiness, you would have already let her go.”
“Exactly,” Dominic answered. He was starting to feel antsy, but he didn’t want to adjust his cuffs again. He ran a hand through his hair instead.
“To my knowledge,” Blake went on, “Nova Brooks is the only human employed here at the Alpha House. Is that correct?”
Dominic did not like that they were still talking about her. When he and Adam had made the list of questions that would spell the end of the interview, Dominic had played with adding questions about Nova to it.
There was no logical reason for it, though. Nothing he’d be able to explain to his Beta.
