Aaron looked around the ballroom as he entered, his gaze naturally come to rest on me. His lips parted, and his hand came to rest on his heart, like he was making sure it was still beating.
“I don’t care whether or not we like him,” Colby leaned down to whisper in my ear. “That is the correct reaction to you in this dress.”
“Shut up,” I hissed, glaring at Colby.
“Please,” he said, “Alpha Blackwood just glared at me enough for a month. I don’t need anymore.”
Yeah, that was kind of fair. I eased up. Turned back to Aaron.
Whose gaze was planted firmly on my arm linked with Colby’s.
Aaron raised his gaze to glare at Colby next.
“Damn,” I whispered. “They both have it out for you tonight.”
“Yeah…” Colby began tugging me off to the side. “Let’s go somewhere else. Anywhere else.”
