When I’m ready—or as ready as I’m ever gonna be, I guess—I push through the door. My first thought is… have I entered another world? I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this. The rooftop looks like the Garden of Eden, filled with plants and flowers and vines that curl along every surface they can find. The path I’m on points in one direction. So I follow it… directly to Isaak. He’s dressed in dark pants and a white shirt and he has his back to me. I have no doubt that he knows I’m here, though. I’ve long since accepted that the man seems to know everything. I ignore the set table in the center of the roof and head over to him. He turns to me, and I feel a thrill of satisfaction when his impassive expression gives way to surprise. “You look beautiful,” he growls
