Kimberly My head was spinning with possibilities. Though I didn’t have a solid plan, just a vague idea that seemed increasingly desperate the more I thought about it. Still, I couldn’t let fear or doubt stop me. If there was even the slightest chance of slipping away, I had to take it. The question was, how could I ask without raising suspicion? Kendrick wasn’t stupid…far from it. Every interaction with him was like navigating a minefield, one wrong step away from disaster. I took a deep breath, my fingers gripping the edge of the duvet. If I went to him with this request, I’d have to choose my words carefully. I couldn’t sound eager or desperate. I’d have to act like it was a casual suggestion, something born out of boredom rather than necessity. But even then, what if he said no?
