"You're not," I assured him. "This is what lawyers do for their clients. We invest in the case because we believe in it."
He didn't look convinced, but he didn't argue further.
After promising to return the next day with updates, I left Noah's room and found Jade waiting in the hallway.
"How are they doing?" she asked anxiously.
"As well as can be expected," I replied. "Walk with me?"
