After hanging up with Dad and Xavier, I felt much better; it was good to hear their voices and get everything off my chest about Ruby's parents. Dad needed to know, and since Ruby only knew about her mother, I didn't want to say more. Sometimes it was hard to keep these secrets; if it were me, I would want to know, but Ruby was too sensitive and needed Dad around when told.
Ruby was still sleeping, not having moved at all while I was in the bathroom.
