The meetings went better than I had expected.
Xavier was an excellent interviewer, asking awkward questions and putting the men and women on the back foot. I loved it and hope to incorporate some of his tactics in future interviews. I don't get involved in ground-level recruitment, only from supervisors to management, because they have access to higher security levels, and I need to trust them to do their job and not be like the four managers we just fired.
It's my fault it went on for so long. I should have caught the discrepancies over a year ago, but so much was happening that I skimmed the reports and checked only the bottom line; that's all on me. But now that Xavier is by my side, we can share the load, and we might catch theft like this earlier.
