Xavier and I are starting to have a better relationship. I wasn't treating him like a son, but as an equal. I didn't feel I deserved to see him as my son-in-law since I had never raised my daughter. I can't help feeling I didn't deserve any of that title in her life; we are becoming close friends, and that's not a bad thing. If anything, it might be better that I see him as a friend and trust him with Cora. I don't need to give him guidance in everyday things, or order him to be good to her; I can already see he is good, and the love in his eyes can't be faked when he looks at her.
