Hope
After leaving my father and sisters, Tanya and I went back to the airport where her private jet was located. Matthew had remained behind, not at all happy about it. I wasn’t sure how Bjorn would take to having another male in his space, especially a human, and rather than watch my father maul Matthew to death, I’d convinced him to stay behind.
Now, however, he’s just as unhappy about me not wanting him to come with us to Araphyra.
“I didn’t ask if you could come, Matthew. I didn’t think about it. But trust me, Tanya will be safe. If you didn’t know where you were going, you wouldn’t even know how to get to Araphyra.”
“The Queen’s a Guardian, right? Can we ask her when we get there if I can come to?” he asks.
“Matthew, what’s this about?” I ask as we fly to our destination.
