Liz We walked down the path toward the safe house in silence. The only sounds were the wind whispering through the trees along the shoreline and the waves crashing against the beach beneath our feet. I clutched the blanket tighter against my chest and hiked my bag up my shoulders, wishing I could pick up on the scents that should have felt like home.
