Here we are — me, Cal, and Odie, sitting in a hospital room waiting for Savage. He won't be the one doing my ultrasound, but he's friends with the woman who will be. And apparently, he'll be here for it.
Laying on the table half undressed and waiting gave me too much time to think though. Calix was trying to keep Odie entertained with a couple of small toy dinosaurs that she insisted on bringing. Seeing them together like that had warmth spreading through my chest and my eyes stinging.
I wasted so much time just being afraid...
I know that Calix says he's forgiven me, and it's all in the past, but I just can't stop feeling guilty. He has no idea how great of a baby Odie was. Or that she learned how to spell her name at the age of two
