I left the motel around 9 at night. When the streets were quiet. At least, most of them. There were a few people staggering around. Bars were still open and it was Friday night. I hear that's a night most people like to go out. Which means everyone will be too drunk to really notice me.
Or so I thought.
I'd been walking for almost two hours now. The streets grew quieter the closer I got to the edge of town. I decided I had enough time to walk all the way to Dayton. If I was lucky, I'd get there by tomorrow afternoon. I was a fast walker with a lot of stamina.
