"Okay?" I replied, confused about why her expression didn't match her words. "Did she not say the invention?"
"She did," Sab said gently. "But she listed something else too. The invention... and her daughter."
For a moment, I didn't react. The words didn't register. I heard them, but they didn't make sense.
"Are you saying that it was my mother?"
"From the description Gio gave me... yeah, I think it was."
"She wants you and the invention," Lux said, piecing it together. "They don't know how to use it either. She needs you for that part."
"I don't know how to use it!" I said exasperatedly.
"No, but your dad does," Sabel said.
"You... oh my god," I mumbled. "She has my dad."
"I really think she does," Sab replied.
