The moment I was in Esti's car in the airport parking lot, I texted Claire that I had made it safely. I promised to call her later when I was settled in. She had replied with a simple 'Glad you made it safe. Love you my sweet girl'. I fought the urge to ask her if anyone had even noticed I was gone.
Honestly, I was sure they had by now. I'm sure Feral woke up alone thinking that I'd be back at some point because I'm just so in love with him. He probably didn't even look for me or care. It was probably a relief to not have to wake up to me and immediately put on an act.
