"Ya know... I wouldn't judge you if you wanted to give him another chance," Paxon said softly.
I shook my head immediately.
"I will admit that I loved him, and I can see that he genuinely feels like he made a mistake," I replied. "But I don't think I could ever take him back. Not after hearing what I did. Even if I could manage to trust him again, it wouldn't be the same. I'd always wonder, always second-guess everything, always have doubts. And I don't want to live like that, ya know?"

"It still hurts a little bit, but I'll get over it," I told him. "I don't want to have a relationship where we have to try that hard already either. That's too much. I'm too young for that. I want something more peaceful. Something easier."
