Chapter 45: Gone-2

757 Words

"Maybe we should just give Sabel a minute," Jo said, trying to defuse the growing tension. No one has said a word about how Mom just spoke to me, or about his betrayal. No one has said how terrible it was, how angry they are. No one said that it wasn't right of them. No one told Mom she was out of line. No one said a damn word in my defense. Not Dad. Not Jo. Not any of the people I thought had my back through thick and thin. For the first time in my life, I feel like I have no one in my corner. I looked at Jo and Dad, then at Dove and Roman, and finally at Mom. "I don't need a minute," I said, my voice stronger than I felt. "I just want to say a few things, then I'm out." "Sabel-" "First off, f***k all of you," I cut Dad off, looking at each of them. "Every single one of you."
