"That's... War's name," he muttered, still looking at me like I'd sprouted an extra head.
I laughed, but it held absolutely no warmth.
"Okay, somebody better start talking," I demanded.
"Well, as far as I know, the brothers get called by their road-names by everyone," Deidra told me. "Usually their mothers can get away with using their legal names, but they usually don't out of respect."
"But?" I pushed, feeling my anger start to boil.
"Uh, well..." Jinx trailed off uncomfortably. "Maybe you should talk to War-"
"They only let their ol' ladies call them by their legal names," Deidra spilled, cutting Jinx off without a care. "And I don't mean girlfriends either. I mean ol' ladies. Women they see a future with. Women they take seriously. They don't give out their names all willy-nilly.
