I let the water wash over me as I kept my head down. The water and blood mixed before swirling down the drain. I had more on me than I thought I did. I guess it's a good thing we didn't get pulled over on our way home. I can't believe I tried to pick up Odie looking like this. No wonder why Calix was so concerned when he saw me.
Cal told me to take some time to let things settle, but it's all settled already. I had plenty of time to think about everything with Julia and Shooter and Sugar on our long drive back to town. I guess it was only a short twenty-ish minute drive from that barn back to the clubhouse though.
