"They're gonna think I'm her boyfriend," River stated, grumbling really and pulling my attention back to them.
"Geez, you make it sound like a bad thing," I said sarcastically.
"It is," he replied flatly, making Saylor whack him in the chest. "Ow, what?" he snapped at her before looking at me through the rearview mirror. "Look, I don't mean it no way, Naddy. You're a total bombshell, anyone would be lucky to have you, but these men are like your brothers and cousins and uncles. They're gonna beat my a.ss. Not to mention, I seriously doubt thou-who-shall-not-be-named wouldn't beat my a.ss on the spot."
I rolled my eyes as I crossed my arms.
