"Doubt it," Wraith said, chiming in. "He's still dealing with all the sh.it his brother put him through. You guys know he ain't been the same since that girl died."
I guess that's true. We'd all heard the rumors about the girl Bear was in love with. We were all so young that the other adults talked in front of us thinking that we weren't listening. From what we'd gathered, Bear fell in love with a woman who was dating his brother. She was going to leave his brother for him, but then she found out she was pregnant. Bear's brother found out about their affair though. Guy skipped town and never came back.
However, the woman died a few years ago. Well, it's been about seven years now, I think. She was the only one that kept in touch
