April 2nd snuck up on me. I wasn't a bad mom. I knew my daughter's birthday. I made plans for her. I just... thought we'd be home by now. I didn't think I'd be planning a secret party.
We had the day planned for the last two weeks. Odie's birthday fell on a Saturday, so it was perfect timing. Claire did most of the planning. Something small in the backyard. No one would know. Excuses would be made for Claire, Cobra, War, and Ty. It was all going to be just fine. Even if I did feel so guilty for not telling Feral that I could throw up.
I mean, what was I supposed to do? Invite the man to his secret daughter's fifth birthday party for them to finally meet for the first time? That would be insane.
