"She always threatening people like that?" I asked tightly.
Nadine let out a short laugh as she rubbed her temples.
"Call her adorable and find out," she mumbled.
"This isn't funny, Nadine," I said. "You've been keeping my daughter from me. I deserve answers."
"I know," she replied, her voice coming out strained as she tried to fight back tears. "I-I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't find out until a few months after, and my pregnancy was so rough..."
I felt a jolt of pain from hearing that.
"Why didn't you tell me? I could have been there for you," I said, much calmer now.
