Nadine's P.O.V. ********************************** "He's really still been that persistent?" Esti asked over the phone. "Yeah," I replied, throwing my legs up against the wall. I'm in my room, on my bed with my legs on the wall instead of my back. Esti called me first thing this morning to wish me a happy birthday. We've been on the phone for a little while now, and I really don't want to hang up and go back to reality. Life isn't as bad these days, but it's still just... overwhelming. I don't think anyone really understands how I feel. Except maybe Esti. "That must be hard," my best friend said, her voice full of sympathy. "You have these strong feelings for him, and you've been so transparent, but he just keeps sending you mixed signals." "I know! It's so frustrating," I groaned.
