"I've loved her since we were kids," I started to ramble. "I tried to stay away. I really did, but I couldn't. I just... I couldn't. I'm so sorry. I was the reason she left, but I didn't know it."
It was like I couldn't stop now. Everything just came pouring out of me. I felt like an idi.ot, but I couldn't make myself stop. I shouldn't anyway. War deserves the whole truth.
"We were gonna tell you the day after her 18th birthday, but then she overheard something I said to Delight," I continued. "I should have told you during that meeting, but you were so stressed about taking over the next day. I should have said something to you in these last six years, but I... I didn't even know if she still wanted me."
