Kael’s POV
I finally forced my body to move. I went to Sienna’s bedside and placed my palm gently over her lower stomach. I leaned closer as if I might hear the tiny life inside her. There was nothing.
“It is too early to hear the heartbeat,” the nurse explained, understanding what I was trying to do.
I lifted Sienna’s blouse slightly and pressed a gentle kiss to her stomach. I was going to be a father. The thought frightened and delighted me in equal measure. I had spent most of my life believing I would never have a family. Now Sienna carried a child made from both of us.
‘Our pup,’ Leon breathed with reverence.
