Kael’s POV
Letting them take Sienna from my arms was one of the hardest things I had ever done. I did not trust the staff. Some of them had probably joined the protests against Maya that morning, but I had no other choice. I paced outside the emergency room while they worked. Nolan stood near me, anger and fear mixing in his scent. Darius made several calls, ordering officers to secure Ash Hollow and investigate.
“Who could have done this?” Nolan asked.
“Angry pack members or Bianca,” I replied.
We all knew those were the most likely possibilities, but we had no proof. Accusing the wrong person would create another crisis, and Bianca was clever enough to avoid leaving evidence that led directly to her. Hours passed before a doctor finally emerged. I reached him first.
