Tears rolled down her face.
“Nolan says he does not want me to endure what both of you went through. I told him I do not care, but he refuses to listen.”
I had not realised their relationship had reached such a painful point. Nolan looked happy whenever Elena was near him, and I assumed they were moving towards a joining.
“We argued yesterday before leaving Ash Hollow,” Elena confessed. “I mentioned your wedding, and he said he did not want to live like a human. He wants to join with me properly before claiming me, and I should be patient.”
