Two weeks passed without another attack. Callum and I hunted every night, moving through the forest and checking every place where the animals had been killed, but we found nothing. No fresh tracks, no unfamiliar scents and no sign of the wolf or wolves responsible. It was as if whoever had been causing the trouble had disappeared the moment we began searching. If Callum did not trust Sienna and me completely, I knew the sudden silence would have made him suspicious. The killings had stopped when we started hunting. To anyone looking at the situation from outside, it might seem as if we were responsible and had only stopped because we knew the hunters were watching.
