"Why am I the only one unhappy?"
Natalie sighs after closing the girl's group chat.
After reading all those messages from everyone, she feels worse. Everyone was gushing about how the trip to Thievania was amazing and how they should do it again soon. But all she can think about is the end to what could have been an amazing trip for her too.
"How could I allow Slate to ruin everything?" She falls back in her seat and curses herself for reacting to whatever Slate said.
"Maybe because he was speaking the truth?"
"Yeah right." Natalie mumbles.
For once Brendan's cousin did speak the truth, not about his misplaced feelings for her but about her boyfriend's engagement.
Brendan and Joanne's engagement was real and it couldn't be undone, at least not as easily as she thought, initially
