Brendan stops them in front of a motorcade that was already waiting for them when they landed.
"I wish I could…"
"Shh..." Natalie brings her forefinger to his lips. "I will see you later." She smiles and his heavy expression lightens a little.
She hates the fact that they have to go separate ways but she kept that thought to herself to keep from making that look of worry and regret on his face worse. Which he has been wearing ever since they landed.
It turns out, she can't join him yet when he is doing official princely duties. And while she's going to miss him terribly, it's not reason enough to have him ditch his royal engagements.
"I'm going to miss you." He pulls her in for a much needed hug and she holds on tight, loving the strength in his arms.
