Ink texted me a few times throughout the day when he had a chance to. And I had heard from Shadow a couple of times as well. He even texted me about his sister and her crush on Rex's brother, Tweaker. And that led to a conversation about Rex's sister Peal and Sydney wanting to beat her ass.
After that text, I looked up at Bailey and said, "Just to warn you, Pearl may end up showing up at your door with her ass kicked. I know that she's not allowed at the clubhouse right now, and that may save her. But if Sydney catches her out somewhere, she's going to beat her ass."
"Oh god what the hell did that child of mine do now?" she asked me. "From what Shadow just told me, Pearl was supposed to work at the kennel today, answering phones. But she was told that Shadow probably wouldn't be there.
